It looks like George Clooney is lining up his directorial follow-up to The Monuments Men. He and his Argo producing partner Grant Heslov are preparing a film called Coronado High for the Descendants star to direct and presumably lead. Making things more interesting is that the effort comes from writer Joshuah Bearman who wrote the now-infamous Argo article at the heart of this year’s Best Picture. This is based on an upcoming article of his which Sony is set to acquire.
While details are scarce, The Wrap uncovered that the story involves teenagers that used to smuggle drugs in an affluent resort city near San Diego, California. This looks a ways off for now, so just sit back and wait for updates on Clooney’s next pic Monuments Men which covers historians’ race to recover art from the Nazis during World War II. The film stars the director, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, and Matt Damon. Release is set for this December.
