When we first heard that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would have two villains, Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Paul Giamatti’s Rhino, we were a bit pessimistic. All of us who remembered how disappointing the third installment of the Sam Raimi trilogy were pointing to that as a sign of what could happen if such a feature became overbloated, and it seemed as if Sony was making the same mistake all over again. Since that time, Marc Webb and others have come out to say this is more about creating the Spider-Man universe than trying to establish a contain-all feature. That said, we are a little more optimistic today about the film’s prospects as the effort is also being injected with Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn, Shailene Woodley’s Mary Jane, and Chris Cooper’s Norman Osborn (Green Goblin.)
Here is the topic of conversation today in regards to the much-anticipated sequel. A photo with Paul Giamatti’s Rhino. Release is set for the first weekend of May 2014.
