It’s official. 30 Rock is finally off the air after six seasons of riding the ratings roller coaster. While it is unfortunate that the award-winning comedy’s audience tanked to new lows in its final run, a silver lining was had in that NBC respected the show enough to see it conclude appropriately. Alas, Jack Donaghy and Liz Lemon said their goodbyes as the former sailed into the night on his boat only to…well, you will see what happens after the jump. Two words: Clear Dishwashers. With 30 Rock set to air its series finale on January 31, Jimmy Fallon had his SNL buddy Tina Fey on along with the cast of her NBC comedy to promote the show’s last few episodes. The core cast of Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer all took part which should come as a treat to the series’ followers which are dwindling going into the home stretch. Many could argue the show’s final run is more of a decency pull from the network who is seeing very low overnight numbers for the comedy now in its seventh season. Continue Reading
Good news for Alec Baldwin fans. The actor has just signed on to star alongside Patrick Wilson (Insidious, Young Adult) in a noir mystery thriller titled Caught Stealing. Yes, this may be another ‘baseball movie,’ but not so much what many would expect. The plot centers on Wilson’s character, an alcoholic former baseball prospect (there you go,) who gets caught up in a ‘bloody’ treasure hunt through New York City. Continue Reading

Alec Baldwin was on David Letterman today promoting Rock of Ages. The movie kind of tanked last weekend, so that might be why Baldwin is out drumming up buzz for the Adam Shankman-directed film. Here is a clip from the interview in which he talks about his recent tabloid run-in.
Jimmy Fallon played host last night to a rarity in television–a reunion show before the series even goes off the air. Right on the heels of one of Woody Allen’s best performing movies of his career comes a new film from the director titled To Rome with Love. Stars of the film include Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Greta Gerwig, and of course Woody Allen. Look for To Rome with Love to land in theaters on June 22.
A brand new Rock of Ages trailer hit the web this week. The main difference this time around is we get to see Tom Cruise get his rock on and Alec Baldwin be hilarious. This is really a good trailer for the musical-turned-movie. It is hard to believe Baldwin nearly backed out of the project.
Additional cast members include Julianne Hough, Bryan Cranston, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige, and Paul Giamatti. The Adam Shankman-directed feature will hit theaters on June 15.
THR is reportingthat Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin, Matt Bomer (White Collar) and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) are all on board to star in Ryan Murphy’s The Normal Heart–a film about the early days of the HIV/AIDS in the 1980′s. The movie from Glee’s co-creator is based on the Tony Award-winning drama by the same name.
These four additions join Mark Ruffalo who has already been cast in the role of “gay cancer” co-founder Ned Weeks. As for the others, Julia Roberts will be playing a doctor; Baldwin has been given the role of Mark Ruffalo’s brother; Bomer’s a gay fashion designer who contracts the illness from Weeks; and Parsons will be reprising his Southern gay activist character which he played in the stage version.
Look for more on The Normal Heart soon as it is sure to be an award contender of sorts down the road.
