Aubrey Plaza took to Conan last night to promote the Blu-Ray release of Safety Not Guaranteed as well as the ongoing fifth season of Parks & Recreation. Safety Not Guaranteed is one of those low-budget films that people became aware of after its theatrical run due to a shockingly high level of critical praise which alludes to a significant after-life. Having said that, the retail release was back at the end of October, so this latest appearance was more of the ‘Conan had a guest slot to fill’ variety not that we’re complaining. Continue Reading
Check out the first trailer for Maggie Carey’s The To Do List–an R-rated comedy starring Parks & Recreation actress Aubrey Plaza. This is one of those films crafted in the aftermath of Bridesmaid’s success and it comes from a Funny or Die collaborator (Carey,) so we certainly expect some recognition at least in the vein of what Bachelorette is receiving at the moment.
In terms of plot, it centers on Plaza’s Brandy who is a recent high-school grad feeling pressured to gain more experience sexually which explains a whole lot about what you are about to see. This trailer is of the red-band variety so expect some things to mirror that. All-in-all, it is more promotion than anything else as Plaza actually walks viewers through the piece confirming that it is definitely not your typical Valentine’s Day movie despite assembling quite a roster. In case you have not yet had enough Channing Tatum this year, here is the first official trailer for his next film which is a drama called 10 Years. The Jamie Linden-directed movie centers on a group of friends reuniting a decade years following their high school graduation. Other stars of the film include Rosario Dawson, Chris Pratt, Anthony Mackie, Aubrey Plaza, Ron Livingston, Ari Graynor, and Justin Long.
Judging from the trailer, this looks more rom-com than anything else. That said, Channing Tatum can definitely pull this off and end his stellar 2012 on a high-note. Even though this is your classic low-budget offering, it can easily turn into one of those ‘overperformers’ that the Magic Mike star has become known for fronting. Continue Reading
