While every presidential election year features a slew of nationally televised debates, there is this sense of an anti-climactic atmosphere revolving around when Obama and Romney go head-to-head. The ratings will be big, but they likely will be down from last time out because of the increased sense that the two candidates have already said everything that they will say at that event.
On the plus side, there is something rather unique to this election coming to the internet in the form of a debate between The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. Airing live for a fee, the 90-minute-long special presentation labelled The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium will air online the night of Saturday, October 6. Those of you who have witnessed the two appear on each other’s show in the past realize that Stewart can generally hold his own in such a head-to-head which is very refreshing considering other late night talk show hosts tend not to fare so well against O’Reilly. Once again, Fox News heavyweight Bill O’Reilly took to The Late Show where he sat down with David Letterman to talk politics.
Bill O’Reilly is still promoting that book he has, so he took to CBS This Morning earlier today where he talked politics. Go figure. The interview kicks off with some comparisons between Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan. The Fox News commentator goes on to say that the republican base despises Barack Obama so much that when they vote in November it will not be for Romney, but rather against Obama.
The Daily Show had a special guest appearance by Bill O’Reilly via satellite last night for a segment in which Jon Stewart tried to get the Fox News commentator to bend on his desire to not buy $4 shrimp. Watch as the host tries to snare O’Reilly in a complex web of hypothetical scenarios.
Saturday Night Live recurred their classic Kenan Thompson-lead What’s Up with That bit last night where the guests were Bill O’Reilly and Kate Upton. Naturally, Bill Hader’s Lindsey Buckingham was the third guest.
