Seeing how the Sunday figures will definitely be deflating the box office’s full weekend results, we knew how rankings would turn up as early as yesterday morning. The conclusion at the time? Warm Bodies is a hit, Bullet to the Head not so much. That is still the case as we look into today’s numbers.
Jonathan Levine’s zombie rom-com debuted to $20 million which is the director’s number one opening yet (only three releases, but those included 50/50 so it is worth something.) The movie is also likely going to be the recipient of Valentine’s Day boost as it looks like it has appeal across gender lines, making this is pretty big deal for everyone attached. There is not much to say about this one other than Sylvester Stallone wants your February cash. His next film Bullet to the Head has him teaming with a cop to bring down some guy who nabbed his daughter for whatever reason. Needless to say, we hope the cliches are left at the door, but that may only be a pipe dream. For now, take a look at trailer number two for the action flick from director Walter Hill.
