Conan O’Brien was the emcee, but he failed to make waves as he kept it light-hearted, refusing to go hard after the big guy. Russell Brand never quite stopped promoting his FX talk show Brand X which is okay because the man is almost back in top form after a period of mediocrity following some personal drama. As recently as January, NBC considered the program one of their best new freshman series which is now pretty laughable.
