Here is the latest trailer for a film we last heard about in January. The project is called The East and it stars Ellen Page as a member of an infiltrated domestic terrorist organization. True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard is in this one as well. Release is slated for May 31.

Ellen Page has decided to try her hand at directing. In a late breaking news story Thursday evening, reports have surfaced placing the Inception actress at the helm of Miss Stevens in which Anna Faris will star. The film comes from The Keeping Room’s Julia Hart with Gilbert Films and Anonymous Content producing. Gary Gilbert, Jordan Horowitz, and Doug Wald are the names behind the banners. 
We had our hunches this was happening, but this is still a pretty big deal to see that it is indeed becoming a reality. The X-Men: Days of Future Past reunion of the old X-Men trilogy just booked the returning talents of Ellen Page (Kitty Pride,) Anna Paquin (Rogue,) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman.) The specifics of what they will be doing remains on the down low, but this is going to set up one hell of a movie going forward. 
This project is rather interesting. It is called The East and it comes from Sound of My Voice director Zal Batmanglij who has enlisted Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard to help front an action drama about anarchists. Essentially the plot centers around Arbitrage actress Brit Marling who plays a corporate spy in the private sector who infiltrates a group known for launching covert attacks against major companies. Needless to say, she eventually comes around to their belief structure after falling in love with the charismatic leader. 
Right on the heels of one of Woody Allen’s best performing movies of his career comes a new film from the director titled To Rome with Love. The feature follows the adventures of several Americans in Italy. What’s more Italian than that?! Stars of the film include Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Greta Gerwig, and of course Woody Allen. Look for To Rome with Love to land in theaters on June 22.
