In the next few years, Emma Stone is set to appear in Birdman, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, an untitled Cameron Crowe project, and Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak. We can add another one to the list today as Deadline has the story that the Crazy, Stupid, Love actress has just boarded the next Woody Allen film. Unfortunately, there are no further details at this time; however, it is worth the reminder that Allen has just wrapped on his To Rome with Love follow-up Blue Jasmine. This means we should expect more casting in regards to Stone’s co-stars soon enough. Blue Jasmine releases in July of this year with a cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Peter Sarsgaard, and Louis C.K.
Emma Stone appears to have nabbed a new film following the nationwide release of Gangster Squad. The actress is reportedly in talks at the moment to join Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak which has us ‘all kinds of excited’ and so forth. The movie is the director’s stab at a more big budget (relatively speaking) horror film that promises to be a bit of an homage in tone of some of Del Toro’s favorites from the genre (like The Shining.) This is the type of thing audiences may want following an onslaught of low-budget attempts at scaring up ticket sales. Continue Reading
Emma Stone took to Ellen this week as part of her press tour for Gangster Squad. The actress talked about a number of interesting things including her accent for the film and working with Ryan Gosling for a second time. She also relived a moment from the last time she was on the daytime program during which an apparent staffer randomly danced behind her without her knowledge. Continue Reading
Perhaps afraid of being overshadowed a bit by Zero Dark Thirty this weekend, Warner Bros. has released yet another trailer for their star-studded crime drama. There really is no harm in doing so, but make no mistake about it that Gangster Squad will play second fiddle to the SEAL Team 6 this coming weekend. Early projections have the film grossing under $20 million to open things up meaning a long theatrical run will be needed to make back the pic’s $75 million investment. Continue Reading

Those receiving recognition heard it from this year’s host Seth MacFarlane and The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone who had the honors of breaking the bad news to everyone who was snubbed. Emma Stone is out promoting Gangster Squad now. The R-rated crime drama stars the actress in Ruben Fleischer follow-up to Zombieland alongside the likes of Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Anthony Mackie, Josh Brolin, and Nick Nolte. It was actually due out back in the fall, but a key sequence deemed insensitive following the Aurora theater shootings had to be scraped, thus changing the movie from its already finished state. Nonetheless, Stone is in LA to gather buzz for the flick with her first stop being The Tonight Show. Continue Reading
This year’s Oscars host will be doing the Academy Award nominations hand-in-hand with Gangster Squad star Emma Stone in three days’ time. The Academy has just announced that they have tapped animation producer Seth MacFarlane to front the early-morning presentation which will mark the first time such a thing has transpired since Charlton Heston in the 1970′s. There does not appear to be much of a reason, but expect the event to be a field day as this seems to be a bigger year than most for the ceremony. The industry grew 6.6% for 2012 with some of that bump being attributed to the typical Oscar-bait including Argo, Flight, Lincoln, and Les Miserables–all of which found over $100 million domestic. In other words, movies people care about will receive recognition as opposed to movies no one has ever heard of. Hit the jump for the press details about Thursday morning. Continue Reading
More Bradley Cooper casting news has surfaced tonight as the Hangover star is reportedly in talks to star alongside Emma Stone in Cameron Crowe’s untitled film. The film is reportedly along the lines of Almost Famous and Jerry Maguire, so it is safe to say that the director’s We Bought a Zoo days are behind him. It has been over a decade since critics fawned over something Crowe put together which is why a lot of eyes are on this one possibly being an overdue Oscar worthy effort from the man.
As far as Cooper’s career is concerned, this will be yet another serious turn for the actor who made his named in R-comedy via Todd Phillip’s raunchy classic. This year alone, the actor put out The Words and has coming up Silver Linings Playbook which both have him flaunting dramatic chops. It will not end there as he also has David O. Russell’s Abscam movie and Serena arriving next year which pretty much cements Cooper in a new genre. The lone detour from this trip to more ‘recognized’ fare will be the third Hangover film which bows on Memorial Day Weekend.
With the domestic opening of The Amazing Spider-Man fast approaching, it is worth putting out eyes on the foreign box office which is experiencing a little bit of business from the movie before the big July 3rd launch. Continue Reading

Emma Stone has a big movie coming out next week in the form on The Amazing Spider-Man, so the actress took to David Letterman today in the hopes of generating some buzz for the film. For those not in the know, Stone sports blonde hair in this movie as the actress was cast as female lead Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield. The Marc Webb-directed featured stays truer to the franchise’s comic book roots than the Sam Raimi era, thus why there is no Mary Jane this time around.
Here is a clip from the interview that will air in its entirety later tonight.
