So not many people were interested in Gus Van Sant’s frakking movie Promised Land. That was not a big deal at all giving his street cred includes pics like Good Will Hunting and Milk. Suitably, he may be on the cusp of landing a redemption gig and it is a doozy that falls right into his wheel house. In my mind, it is either going to be a smash hit or a miserable failure. It is Fifty Shades of Grey which is being setup at Universal one year after the studio bought the screen rights for roughly $3 million against 3% of gross.
The Oscar-nominee reportedly went as far as to shoot a scene starring Magic Mike’s Alex Pettyfer, specifically one in which Anastasia Steele loses her virginity to Christian Grey. Pettyfer is definitely not the real Grey though as The Wrap reports this was only for show. Hopefully more details will come out soon enough on the race to cast and hire for Fifty Shades of Grey because its popularity might be waning. That was never a problem with The Da Vinci Code, but then again this is not The Da Vinci Code.

The response came in the form of a faux Amazon ad for Mother’s Day with a cast that included Jason Sudeikis, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Vanessa Bayer, Taran Killam, and Nasim Pedrad.
