Remember the security guard that hands Mark Ruffalo pants in The Avengers? Well, the Harry Dean Stanton scene in the Joss Whedon-directed blockbuster was one of the many portions of the superhero ensemble piece that was cut down to size. More specifically, an entire conversation between the two characters did not make it to the big screen and will be available on the film’s Blu-Ray.
You might be able to tell why this one was cut with a view. Not only is it redundant in the mentioning of Stark Tower being central to the third act, but the dialogue does not exactly flow smoothly between the two. It almost feels as if the joke about Ruffalo’s identity is played too much. On the flip side, it does show some conflict that Bruce Banner has about using his ‘super power.’ Continue Reading
