Don Cheadle was on The Tonight Show last night as the Iron Man star was promoting the on-going second season of his Showtime comedy House of Lies. The actor had a chance to talk about his surprise Golden Globe win and what he does after the award shows end. He also talked a little bit about the new Iron Man movie and just how much action “Cheadlemania” will see. 
Don Cheadle took to Jimmy Fallon last night for some more press on House of Lies. The show is currently in its second season and it remains very low key, but it is well-respected which is more than enough to satisfy Cheadle, Kristen Bell and Parks & Rec cameo artist Jean-Ralpheo. Here is the actor’s full appearance. Expect to see him back on the circuit sometime soon as Iron Man 3 will likely get a lot of promotion two months from now.

Showtime has officially given more life to its winter line-up. Earlier this afternoon, the premium network saw fit to give renewals to their entire Q1 slate which includes Shameless, House of Lies, and Californication. The last one is the lowest performing of the trio (and also the oldest,) so it could always be bumped out in favor of something new; however, each of these shows will return in 2014 at some point. Given the fact that each are experiencing series high ratings at the moment, January premiere dates for all three programs look certain. 
Kristen Bell was on Ellen this week promoting the on-going second season of House of Lies. She said nothing of note about the series, but the reason we take notice today is because last year when on the show the actress talked about her full-on sloth meltdown. This time, we get to see her actually re-live the moment by meeting Lola the sloth. How crazy is Kristen Bell about sloths? She actually knew there was one named Lola in the LA area. 
No surprises here. Sunday evening was a night filled with viewership highs on premiere night for Showtime’s winter lineup. Shameless (2 million), House of Lies (1.2 million), and Californication (1.1 million) all debuted higher despite their first episodes back appearing on-demand days in advance. A lot of it has to do with the expanding subscribing base of Showtime which has witnessed unprecedented growth thanks in part to the channel’s fall combo of Homeland and Dexter lighting up Nielsen meters.
