The press is still going early for the release of Grown Ups 2. Adam Sandler took to The Tonight Show Thursday night to promote the comedy which does not release for another two months. One of the interviews I missed earlier in the week was that of a Ken Jeong appearance on The Tonight Show. The actor is coming off a small part in Pain & Gain and is now back on the circuit to promote his third time recurring as Mr. Chow in The Hangover trilogy. He talked about his tiger showbiz dad, his yearbook photo, and his increased role in the final Hangover movie. 
The press is getting a little mileage today out of Craig Ferguson’s recent stop by The Tonight Show. The CBS talk show host has been on the program before, but this time Jay Leno started talking a little smack about The Eye. More specifically, he took issue with the program’s leaky air conditioner and the fact that Ferguson does not have the budget for a band. To be fair, Craig is dead last in the ratings (ignoring Carson Daly of course.) 
Recurring Tonight Show guest Kevin Smith sat down with Jay Leno a few days ago to promote his new movie, Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie. It is really a low-key event, but everything Smith always has a bit of entertainment in it thus the mention. The last we heard, he was writing Clerks III although there is no mention here. Instead, he spoke of seeing the third Iron Man movie which he absolutely loved. It reminds me of that show he did on Hulu last year called 
Chris Evans has a new movie out, and it had the unfortunate honor of releasing to select theaters opposite Iron Man 3. Being in The Avengers, he knows the drill and decided to do some meaningless promotion nonetheless. He took to The Tonight Show last week to plug Iceman where he talked about his Boston roots as well as riding motorcycles in Captain America: The First Avenger. The sequel talk was next to nothing, but for those hearing of Captain America 2 for the first time, it is currently filming in Cleveland where it will carry a more contemporary vibe set in Washington D.C. Supporting stars include Scar Jo’s Black Widow, Revenge’s Emily VanCamp, and Pain & Gain’s Anthony Mackie.
Ben Kingsley has the biggest movie of his career to promote today as the actor is doing press for the stateside launch of Iron Man 3. The movie is already up to $195 million from its international rollout a week earlier. His role is that of The Mandarin who is a major villain in the Iron Man comics, and critics are already lavishing praise on the performance by calling it only second to Robert Downey, Jr.’s Tony Stark. With such heavy hitters as Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, and Rebecca Hall that is one hell of a compliment. [Note: The Mandarin clip comes near the end of Part 2.] 
Robert Downey, Jr. was on The Tonight Show Friday night to promote Iron Man 3 (of course.) The clean-shaven man talked about a lot including his Oscar snub from long ago and the prospects of winning one of these days. The actor also screened another clip from the movie which we already saw, but it is Tony Stark so we will happily sit through it again. His new movie aims to be the biggest opening of the year with tracking now north of $150 million for the three-day debut. 
Armed with a new Iron Man clip and some healthy food choices, Gwyenth Paltrow took to The Tonight Show last night for some North American press on her latest Marvel film. The premiere was the night before and from what we learned it is more than a mere second of Pepper Potts in the suit (pictured above) and now we have proof. The footage she brought with her showcases that Malibu Mansion attack scene that has dominated the film’s marketing materials. 
Emily Blunt has a new movie out, a dramedy starring Colin Firth and Anne Hache called Arthur Newman. The pic is about a man who fakes his own death in order to escape his life and then moves in with a woman in a similar predicament. The Five-Year Engagement star showed on The Tonight Show Wednesday night coincidentally the same day as her All You Need Is Kill co-star Tom Cruise. 
Tom Cruise is not yet finished with his press tour for the country’s number one movie Oblivion. His new sci-fi film made a lot of coin worldwide already and is on pace to become another financial success starring the Mission: Impossible front man. He took a victory lap on Jay Leno this week which was left off the Tonight Show schedule prior to Monday–a surprise booking that most likely bumped a guest from the lineup. There was some good to come out of this appearance though as he was able to reunite with Emily Blunt who he filmed All You Need Is Kill with for release next March. 
Diane Keaton was on The Tonight Show April 22. The actress showed up on the talk show circuit to promote her new R-comedy coming out this Friday from director Justin Zackham. This is a low-key effort being distributed by Lionsgate about a divorced couple who fakes being marriage for the sake of their kid’s wedding. Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Susan Sarandon, Topher Grace, and Robin Williams are her co-stars. In other words, if this film fails then it is the material and its studio’s tendency to be cheap in the marketing department as the cast list is there. Reviews are not expected to have much of an effect. 
Charlie Sheen took to The Tonight Show Wednesday evening. The actor was on the program to promote his on-going second season of Anger Management as well as his small supporting role in Friday’s release Scary Movie V. He and Lindsay Lohan were used mostly as marketing tools for the slapstick horror comedy’s return to the silver screen. The question now lies with whether or not the audience will return based on what they have seen so far. Historical box office revenue for the franchise’s opening weekend is near $40 million–something analysts expect to be halved thanks to a seven-year layover and the absence of Anna Faris. 
Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson took to The Tonight Show Tuesday evening to promote her upcoming hosting of the MTV Movie Awards. This is the first time the actress will front the show, and one of the few times in recent memory where a female actually solo emcee’d the event in question. Expect big celebrity appearances and some trailer reveals (like the one for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) come Sunday.
