By Jeff Rosz | April 25th, 2013 Stand-up comic and creator of The Office Ricky Gervais took to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon again last night. The actor has been on the circuit promoting two new things, his YouTube channel and his Netflix series Derek. Ricky’s always a good guest and sometimes outrageous guest so this gets the nod even though neither of these are big ticket releases. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 25th, 2013 Jessica Pare has quietly made a name for herself over the past three seasons of Mad Men, filling the shoes of Megan. It is hard to imagine just a few years ago she was a non-essential cast member at best, but she eventually wound up having the same notoriety of January Jones or Peggy Olson player Elisabeth Moss. That said, let’s take a look at her pit stop by Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 23rd, 2013 January Jones took to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Monday evening. The Mad Men star was on the talker to promote her reprisal in the role of Betty on the hit AMC period drama. Matthew Weiner’s award-winning program could hardly benefit from such appearances though as ratings are as consistent as they come with ratings still north of the 1.0 18-49 mark after two weekends. That is expected to drop-off like last year, but viewers always seem to catch back up when the program’s latest season inevitably hits Netflix, bringing viewership back by time the show returns for yet another year on the air. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 13th, 2013 Tom Cruise followed up last night’s stop by Jimmy Kimmel Live with an appearance on Jimmy Fallon. The actor is promoting his new sci-fi epic that releases one weekend from now. This is his first trip to the genre since War of the Worlds which was the Top Gun star’s highest-grossing film ever until Ghost Protocol came along two Decembers ago. If today’s interview seems oddly familiar, that is because Cruise’s last time on Late Night was four months ago to promote the release of Jack Reacher. Back then he play a game called Water War, this time he played Egg Roulette. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 12th, 2013 Vince Vaughn took to Jimmy Fallon last night promoting his new film The Internship in conjunction with his upcoming stint hosting Saturday Night Live. The promos for his second turn at helming the sketch variety series hit the web Wednesday, so check those out if you are yet to do so. As for the actor’s new movie, that one has him reuniting with his Wedding Crashers buddy Owen Wilson to play two middle-aged Google interns. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 11th, 2013 The new lead of Scary Movie is Ashley Tisdale who we last noticed on a recurring role in the FX series Sons of Anarchy. She has some pretty big shoes to fill as she is tasked with replacing the departing Anna Faris as the franchise anchor, thus why yesterday’s stop by Jimmy Fallon did not hurt. The slapstick property is looking like a $20+ million open which might be enough to get the film in the top spot its first weekend. Its chief rival will be the Jackie Robinson movie 42 which stars Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 10th, 2013 Julianna Margulies was on Jimmy Fallon last night to plug her critically-acclaimed CBS drama The Good Wife. The show recently received its renewal for next season despite reasonably soft ratings in its Sunday evening time slot. Margulies usually has something interesting to say which is why we acknowledge the star’s latest appearance on the talk show circuit. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 5th, 2013 Melissa McCarthy has the honors of hosting the first Saturday Night Live back from spring break–the promos for which hit the web yesterday. These return episodes tend to be some of the better ones, and given McCarthy’s draw the pressure is on for a big show. The Mike & Molly star stopped by Jimmy Fallon Thursday to give the episode a little bump. Her next film The Heat does not come out until June. Nonetheless, the pic got some love during the appearance. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 4th, 2013 Hugh Dancy was on Jimmy Fallon last night as the actor was busy promoting his new scripted drama Hannibal. The series is based on ‘that’ Hannibal and is pretty gruesome-looking as one would imagine. Take a look at the trailers if you are yet to do so as this could be the most violent show to ever hit broadcast television…not that we are complaining. Reviews are looking solid so far, thus supplying a bit of optimism that NBC might have another successful series on their hands–their third of the 2012-13 season. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 3rd, 2013 There is even more late night news to cover tonight, specifically that pertaining to the responses from Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon respectively. Apparently, NBC does not really care if you tune in tonight to see what they have to say because they released the monologue jokes to give us some sort of idea of just how congenial Jay plans on being about this whole thing. Perhaps there is more, but it is doubtful Leno would want to devote a lot of time on his show to that. The take away here is that Fallon has confirmed a February swap. NBC only specified Spring 2014 in their release. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 3rd, 2013 Luckily, you do not have to wait until 11:30 to get David Letterman’s response to The Tonight Show change-up. CBS has released a preview for tonight’s broadcast, featuring a sizable portion of his musings on the matter. As Dave points out, NBC announced earlier today that Jay Leno would be departing his late night talk show after 22 years. That is not exactly true though as the statement merely has a target of Spring 2014 although sources tell Variety that the shift could happen the first week of March at the latest. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 3rd, 2013 It is official. Jay Leno is gone from The Tonight Show starting in Spring 2014. At long last, a network announcement has been made, adding that the show will move to New York and the Late Night succession plans are still being hammered out. It has been long rumored that Seth Meyers would be taking the reins of the 12:35 am time slot with news just yesterday saying things are entering the deal-making phase for that to happen. The broadcaster reportedly wanted to get their Tonight Show plans set in stone before striking a contract with Saturday Night Live’s head writer. Sources confirm that Fallon wrapped his new deal just yesterday. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 2nd, 2013 Remember that Broadway play that Alec Baldwin got Shia LaBeouf fired from? Well, it is finally happening and 30 Rock alum Alec Baldwin is off promoting it. Last night, the screen actor was on Jimmy Fallon to plug the production entitled Orphans. He also talked about April Fools’ Day and a prank he played on his daughter several years ago. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 2nd, 2013 This past week marked the return of HBO’s smash hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones in which Emilia Clarke has a major role. She plays Daenerys Targaryen on the program who is best know as “The Mother of Dragons.” The fan favorite actress was on Jimmy Fallon last night thus why we bring this up. As always, footage is after the jump. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 1st, 2013 It looks the network is finally preparing to announce something, or at least manipulate certain current events to their advantage, as tonight Jay Leno will finally speak with Jimmy Fallon. This looks to be a comedy bit first and foremost, and considering it will land on April Fools’ Day, it very much could be nothing at all. Nonetheless, it is getting some attention thus the honorable mention. Check for an update with the full segment tomorrow morning. [Update: The pair sang their way to zero answers. Enjoy.] Continue Reading
