By Jeff Rosz | April 30th, 2013 Yes, there is yet another poster for The Hangover Part III that needs our attention. This time it is John Goodman’s antagonist character–a great follow-up to yesterday’s giraffe.

By Jeff Rosz | April 29th, 2013 Yes, pretty much the title explains it all here. There is some more footage in the latest commercial for The Hangover Part III which is now less than four weeks out from release. It may have to compete against the likes of Fast & Furious 6, but some people I know are willing to see both in the same weekend. This is what government holidays like Memorial Day were meant for, at least according to the Hollywood geniuses who decided to release these films side-by-side. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | April 19th, 2013 Zombieland is not the only Amazon Prime pilot in town as the e-tailer turned streaming company has just released the first episode of John Goodman’s new show Alpha House. This is an M-rated series complete with several doses of profanity to go for the ride, and it genuinely has some funny moments in it so it should be worth checking out provided the source material is not a turn off. The show is yet another one of those political-minded comedies as it stars four senators that share a house together in Washington D.C. Hilarity ensues.
Additional stars include Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy, and Mark Consuelos. If picked up to series, Alpha Dogs would likely premiere this fall.

By Jeff Rosz | February 12th, 2013 John Goodman had a pretty wonderful interview last night over at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Not only did he talk about how Bruce Willis used to bar tend in NYC years ago, but he also filled us in on two upcoming projects. Those include The Hangover Part III and Monsters University. The latter received the focus as the Roseanne alum brought a clip (which we were not expecting,) but the former gave us some new never-before-heard details pertaining to his character. Apparently, he will be playing a tracksuit-wearing guy who likes to kill people. And just like that, we cannot wait to see Todd Phillips’ trilogy capper. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | January 24th, 2013 The trailer is finally here for the Coen Brothers follow-up to True Grit, Inside Llewyn Davis. Its story stars Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood) as a singer-songwriter exploring the folk music scene in 1960′s New York. Carey Mulligan and John Goodman are also in the pic which should be fairly comforting to those who have no clue who Oscar Isaac is. Ethan and Joel Coen based this movie on a memoir by folk singer Dave Van Ronk (1936-2002) called The Mayor of MacDougal Street. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | November 8th, 2012 Those of you who already saw Flight last weekend are certainly going to appreciate this a lot more than everyone else. John Goodman took to Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to promote his latest feature, Flight. The actor plays a comic relief character who also supplies Denzel with cocaine and alcohol. Who would have thought an enabler for an addict would be this much fun? Either way, if Goodman does not get a supporting nomination from the Academy for Argo, he should certainly get recognized for his brief performance in Flight. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | October 19th, 2012 Check out the latest movie clip for Robert Zemeckis’ Flight starring Denzel Washington. This is not exactly high-octane by any means, but you can definitely see John Goodman put on a show as the ‘friend’ character as Denzel’s Whip is in the hospital preparing to deal with his newfound hero status. The scene takes place after he saves a plane full of passengers from a very fatal result. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | October 9th, 2012 More Argo players visited Good Morning America earlier today. Supporting actors John Goodman and Alan Arkin visited the program to shore up support going into the weekend. The two only had a little time to plug the film, but they did reveal a few things including what lured in John Goodman and who Alan Arkin based his character on. Also, Goodman let it slip that he was working with Arkin on another project, but quickly backed off saying he ‘forgot.’ Whatever that means, I immediately want to know more. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | August 16th, 2012 Just last week it was revealed that Heather Graham would be reprising her role in the third Hangover movie after sitting out for round two, now we are hearing that things have moved on to cast new celebrity cameos that are meant to impress. The first addition is that of John Goodman who is having somewhat of a career resurgence as of late. The Argo star is currently in talks to play a bad guy not so much unlike Paul Giamatti’s character in The Hangover Part II. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | August 7th, 2012 America is about to sit through yet another baseball movie this fall. No, it is not a sequel to Moneyball, but it does star Clint Eastwood who is taking a backseat for once from the director’s chair (the first time since 1993′s In the Line of Fire actually) as Robert Lorenz has behind-the-camera duty for this picture. The movie centers around Eastwood’s character who is a baseball scout that takes his daughter on one last recruiting trip.
The trailer seems to showcase a Gran Torino-like vibe from its star, yet it is toned down enough for us to not call it ‘the same character.’ Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake add a romantic element to the mix that does not look like it fits the story they are trying to tell, but then again I just saw In Time again on HBO the other night and right now anything with Timberlake looks incredibly awkward to me. We will see how it turns out in a month and a half. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | August 2nd, 2012 John Goodman can still get the job done in the comedy arena and nothing shows that more than the following sketch he did for Funny or Die. The actor dressed up as Colonel Sanders to support gay marriage in what is seen as a knock at Chik-Fil-A’s religious foundations.
For those curious where Goodman has been, that actor can next be seen in the Clint Eastwood baseball scouting drama Trouble with the Curve, Ben Affleck’s Argo, Robert Zemeckis’ Flight, and then heard in Monsters University . He was also cast in the NBC comedy Downwardly Mobile in which he will reunite with Roseanne Barr. In other words, he did not have to do this for Funny or Die. Big props go to King Ralph for stepping up to the plate. Continue Reading

By Jeff Rosz | February 10th, 2012 Here is a news story that will only fuel the already persistent chatter that Roseanne Barr is a one-hit wonder who is sadly going back to her blue collar sitcom roots to relive her past glories. It was revealed today that John Goodman is currently in final negotiations to reunite with the comedian in her new NBC comedy, Downwardly Mobile.
For those not in the know, the series centers on Roseanne’s character who manages a mobile home park. Goodman will not be playing her husband this time around. Instead, he has been cast as merely her buddy. Nonetheless, this property will be closely watched as it almost seems like a guaranteed pickup to series at this point.
By Jeff Rosz | October 28th, 2011 This is the teaser trailer for ParaNorman. The film hits theaters on August 17, 2012. Continue Reading
By Jeff Rosz | September 28th, 2011 John Goodman has officially joined Robert Zemeckis’ Flight starring Denzel Washington. The film is about a pilot (Washington) who averted a crash, but ends up crashing in his life metaphorically via substance abuse. This is where Goodman comes into play. His character plays a friend of Washington’s character that helps him come to terms with the abuse. Continue Reading
