John Krasinski was out last night doing more promotion for the end of The Office. The show is coming to an end next Thursday via a 2 hour 15 minute salute front-loaded with a one-hour revisit, so NBC thinks this will be quite the event. A larger picture question might be whether or not fans will return for finale night given this used to be a cult comedy. A 50% ratings pop might be in the cards, but even so that is far below the series’ best performances. For now, we wait and watch Krasinski lip-sync with Jimmy Fallon. Continue Reading
Reviews are coming in mixed for the anti-fracking movie Promised Land, but it is not like that matters. The last similar-sized project to star Matt Damon (We Bought a Zoo) received a similar reception viaand the box office was just fine. This one may have a narrower demographic, but the budget reflects that as Focus Features in distributing. That said, John Krasinski who co-wrote and co-starred in the pic alongside Damon just visited Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to drum up some extra attention. Continue Reading
Fresh off the news that Promised Land would be qualifying for the Oscar ballots this year, a trailer has been released for the film that has Matt Damon trying to pull a fast one on a town flush with natural gas. Check out the first trailer for Nobody Walks—a film from director Ry Russo-Young and Lena Dunham. In addition to having a credit from the creator of the fan favorite HBO comedy Girls, this film also has John Krasinski in it which is surely enough to grab our attention. Unfortunately, it looks like the actor is shedding his nice guy image in this one as I am not sure fans will truly buy the premise under those circumstances. Continue Reading

That Matt Damon/John Krasinski screenplay that the entertainment world has been talking about looks to be finally getting off the ground. According to Deadline, Focus Features and Participant Media are getting distribution duties for the project that now goes under the name Promised Land. Damon’s Good Will Hunting director Gus Van Sant will be helming the effort which is fairly interesting as the gig was originally sold to Warner Bros. as the actor’s directorial debut.
Promised Land centers on the Bourne actor’s character who is a sales executive that has his whole life called into question upon arriving at a small town. Krasinski will be playing a rival executive.
Reports are surfacing that Matt Damon has chosen to helm a film that he he co-wrote with The Office’s John Krasinski instead of Father Daughter Time for his directorial debut. This does not change the fact that Damon is looking at the director’s chair, but it is definitely an interesting choice. Continue Reading
