The American Idol host elaborated on what this new deal with the network means. It is essentially an extension with NBCUniversal that will extend his presence in the role of special correspondent for the broadcaster aside from his duties at E! On the topic of American Idol, with an 8-figure salary and slumping ratings, it is news that the host is inches away from a new contract on the show. Last time, the network played hard ball, so it was expected to be the same situation this time around. Perhaps The X Factor’s troubles with finding a working host is giving Fox the sense that he really is not as replaceable as previously speculated.

Apparently Taylor Kitsch is worth less than two minutes of air time as he stopped by Today earlier this morning for an on-the-go outdoor interview. The actor talked about his hair and was asked about his box office dud that was John Carter. 
Shock jock Howard Stern was on Today this morning where he talked about his addition to America’s Got Talent. Questions revolved around whether this move will ultimately backfire on NBC, a prospective boycott from a family group, and the type of judge he thinks he is.
