Rumors: Leo DiCaprio & Robert DeNiro for JFK Assassination Pic

inception leonardo dicaprioWhile American Bullshit continues to be the ‘David O. Russell project of the moment,’ there MIGHT be another one that everyone will soon be talking about. The Oscar-winner has allegedly signed up to both write and direct a feature called Legacy of Secrecy which is based on a Lamar Waldron-Thom Hartmann non-fiction book by the same name that tackles some pretty serious JFK conspiracies. This one has a Mafia godfather Carlos Marcello confessing to have ordered the hit on the president.

Interesting enough, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro appear to be on the board the project. DiCaprio’s involvement goes back to 2010 and he is said to be taking a long vacation from acting at this time. That said, I will believe it when I see it in regards to his involvement. The De Niro thing is a tad more believable given he has attached himself to O. Russell as of late after a string of lackluster releases before Silver Linings brought him back on top. Of course, that is assuming O. Russell is actually on board and is not simply flirting with the project.

Watch A Second Ending to ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

Those of you who loved David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook might want to see this. As the film’s director is currently reuniting the cast for a period piece in the Boston area called American HustleTWC has released an alternate ending to his last project–an Oscar-nominated dramedy starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

Shia LaBeouf to Reunite with ‘Eagle Eye’ Director for Espionage Thriller

lawlessShia LaBeouf has booked his first film since the release of The Company You Keep on the same day his co-star from that movie Anna Kendrick found her follow-up. This one is a pretty good project as it has the Lawless star opposite Robert De Niro in Spy’s Kid. The project looks to signal a reunion between LaBeouf and director D.J. Caruso as THR says the Disturbia and Eagle Eye helmer is currently in talks to go behind the camera. Given my ability to tolerate and enjoy at least part of both films, I would say this is a win for the average moviegoer.

Billed as Catch Me If You Can with an espionage slant, further details are rough at this time. No talent is producing suggesting either lead or both could bounce at the first sign of trouble. A script is yet to be furnished thus the hang-up on this end, so do not exactly fill out your IMDB cards for this one just yet.

Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro Discuss ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ on ‘Today’

The Today Show had both Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro on the program this week to promote Silver Linings Playbook.  The two actors star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the film about an adult son moving back in with his parents after being released from a mental institution.  There is more to that, but I will let the interviews speak for themselves.  Topics of conversation on Cooper’s end include almost passing on the David O. Russell film and the end of his reign as People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” Continue Reading
