Those of you who loved David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook might want to see this. As the film’s director is currently reuniting the cast for a period piece in the Boston area called American Hustle, TWC has released an alternate ending to his last project–an Oscar-nominated dramedy starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

On the more cheery end of things, Jessica Chastain is in full-on movie star mode and perhaps her name recognition is going to soar dramatically because of what she is pulling in theaters. As for the new number one (and let’s be cautious about this because these are mid-day Friday numbers,) that looks very much to be the Jessica Chastain-led Mama which will net over $20 million with the actress’ other movie Zero Dark Thirty not far behind. Either way, the Golden Globe-winner certainly has her stamp on the box office for MLK weekend, beating such films as Broken City, A Haunted House, and Gangster Squad by a comfortable margin. Another story might be had on the expansion of Silver Linings Playbook. The Oscar-nominated movie from David O. Russell is finally rolled out nationwide after releasing way back in November, and it is expected that the film will have its best weekend yet because of wide availability with $10 million+ these next four days. The 2013 MTV Movie Awards aired last night, and the results are in. Big winners Sunday were The Avengers and The Silver Linings Playbook. Do not get too thrown back though as the ceremony did not grow an Academy-style taste. Twilight still took home an award for Best Shirtless Moment. Results after the jump. Comedian Chris Tucker took to Conan last night to promote the still-in-theaters release Silver Linings Playbook which is up for a heap of Academy Awards a few weekends from now. Chris does not exactly have a huge role in the David O. Russell dramedy, but he has been making a comeback tour as of late following a long break from showbiz. 
Jennifer Lawrence is back on the talk show circuit following her stint hosting Saturday Night Live. The actress is still out promoting Silver Linings Playbook, a film which gave the actress a Golden Globe and a SAG Award. Later this month, she will try for the triple crown at the Academy Awards, but before all that The Hunger Games star decided to drop by Conan while her Silver Linings co-star Bradley Cooper visited Jimmy Kimmel. 
Bradley Cooper took to Jimmy Kimmel Live last night for some additional press on Silver Linings Playbook. The film may seem like it has had a promotional campaign forever, but that is because the feature just recently released wide alongside the Oscar nominations. David O. Russell’s follow-up to The Fighter is actually doing really good right now and should pass $100 million domestic by time its run is through. 
Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell took to The Tonight Show last night promote his film which has been doing fantastic in theaters since going wide two weekends ago. The movie scored two consecutive 8-figure hauls in that span of time which is beginning to make this movie like one heck of a financial success for The Weinstein Company. Silver Linings is up for a handful of awards at next month’s Oscars including nominations for all four major acting categories. 
Robert De Niro, a notoriously tough interviewee, was on The Tonight Show last night. Having been disappointed by his previous appearances, there was a little bit less hype behind this one especially considering how his career has fizzled out in recent years. Not to worry though as he still is a living legend who happens to be up for an Academy Award this year for his supporting role in Silver Linings Playbook. He may not win but there is a sense of normalcy in Hollywood as the Raging Bull star has not seen such recognition in decades. Hit the jump for the Leno appearance. 
We do not get to see a whole lot of Julia Stiles nowadays, but she is still around doing some pretty good things including a supporting role in Silver Linings Playbook. The Dexter guest star appeared on Conan last night to promote the David O. Russell pic which she actually has a very, very small role in as Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘bitchy’ sister. While on the talk show, she talked about a few things including her fondness for cable television and Sports Center in particular in addition to the other project she’s promoting: a TV movie to air on ABC this Sunday called The Makeover. 
Well, it certainly looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career as a leading man is done judging from the weekend’s box office numbers. His latest film The Last Stand stole the spotlight from all this Jessica Chastain love as it only found $6.3 million in its first 72 hours, suggesting a sub-$8 million four-day holiday weekend and one of the most embarrassing performances from a well-promoted wide release in recent memory. This definitely has to be a shock for anyone involved in the making of this film as many expected a still-disappointing $12 million going into the weekend.
Silver Linings Playbook looks to be in the midst of a successful nationwide expansion, so it is nice to see the film is still getting press. Comedian Chris Tucker was on Leno Friday night to talk about the movie which almost always makes for a good appearance.
