The trailer has finally made it to the web for Edgar Wright’s third Simon Pegg-Nick Frost partnership, The World’s End. This is the director’s last movie before he goes off to work on Ant-Man, so we will paying close attention to the release. The idea of another Pegg-Frost joint might be good at the box office, but the man’s talent behind the camera is really what draws us in. Before he returns to “blood and ice cream” via Edgar Wright’s The World’s End this August, Simon Pegg will reprise his role as Scotty in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness. A new featurette with the actor front and center hit the web earlier today in promotion for the May 17th release. Just a few moments ago, I made note of a viral video for Star Trek Into Darkness via Yahoo! Movies, and today it is time to mention more character posters. Joining yesterday’s batch are Simon Pegg’s Scotty and Anton Yelchin’s Chekov–two fan favorites.
Make Trek not Wars. Now, do not get too upset as the world still has plenty of stuff for Simon Pegg to star in. The actor will next be seen in J.J.’s Star Trek Into Darkness coming in May, and The World’s End from Ant-Man director Edgar Wright shortly after that. I would like to point out that a much more believable rumor might be Pegg joining Ant-Man for Marvel Studios given his track record with Wright, but who am I to give the internet trolls ideas? Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters on May 17. IMAX 48 hours earlier on May 15.
This would make plenty sense considering just yesterday we received a teaser poster for the film featuring who is probably Benedict Cumberbatch’s mysterious villain. Previous mentions have focused on his being a ‘one man weapon of mass destruction’ with some hints that he may be a former member of Star Fleet. We will definitely be looking at identifying his character further when the first major promo drops for this title which aims to be one of the big, big movies of summer 2013. Continue Reading

Simon Pegg was on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night, marking the first late night talk show appearance to promote Star Trek Into Darkness in any capacity. The appearance was pretty brief (
Even though there is a tremendous amount of hype for Iron Man 3 right now, the marketing campaign for Star Trek Into Darkness is holding its own and box office pundits still expecting the film to debut with over $100 million a mere 14 days later. We have new clips to check out today and they are good ones, particularly the first which features Simon Pegg’s Scotty and Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk running around on the Enterprise. This attempts to recapture the magic seen four years ago in a sequence that had Kirk trying to save Scotty after the two beam aboard the ship, placing the latter in what appeared to be a cooling tube filled with water and destined for a turbine. 
It looks like we will not have to wait until The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey after all. Cast member Simon Pegg who plays Scotty in the upcoming Star Trek Into the Darkness has just revealed via Twitter that the trailer is dropping on Thursday, not December 14. We have no reason to believe that he is embellishing to wind us up, as that does not appear to be his style so take this for what it is.
For those of you who have never seen Patrick Stewart in comedy mode, you are in for a treat. The X-Men actor teamed up with Funny or Die this week to put together a bit on Olympic ticket scalping that is pretty great. Not only does he make us laugh, but there are some pretty noteworthy cameos by Olympian Ryan Lochte, Simon Pegg, and Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams who nearly steals the show because…well…she’s Arya Stark. Simon Pegg was on the fourth hour of The Today Show this morning to promote Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. Kathie Lee Gifford asked the actor about his extended role in the latest edition of the franchise, Tom Cruise’s crazy stunt, and more. 
Out of all the Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol clips, this one is definitely near the top of the heap in terms of comic relief. Watch as Simon Pegg’s character refuses to open the door for Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and Hunt’s subsequent reaction when he attempts to deviate from the mission’s plan. The movie opens on Wednesday, December 21.
