Check out the Robot Chicken couch gag from The Simpsons. There is not much else to say other than this is yet another classic parody that Fox’s long-running animated production churned out. Continue Reading
Not necessarily rivals as Breaking Bad now airs on Sundays during the summer months, the long-running animated series The Simpsons has decided to pay homage to the meth-peddling series. This is the second such AMC-generated nod from everyone’s favorite four-fingered family as they famously showed respects to Mad Men a few seasons ago. Continue Reading
Remember that no-dialogue Simpsons short that was front-loaded onto Ice Age 4? Well, the piece finally made it to the net and debuted on Hulu not too long ago. This is more of a courtesy mention than anything else as it is far from the full-on feature audiences experienced over five years ago. That said, The Longest Daycare should definitely come off as interesting to fans of the series as it centers around Maggie Simpson and the unibrow baby Gerald. Continue Reading
Just after news broke that Seth MacFarlane already had a plot for the Family Guy movie, word also made it online that the animator has signed on for a voice acting gig on The Simpsons. EW landed the exclusive story where they shed some light on things, informing us that the episode will have him play a character named Ben whom Marge meets on an Ashley Madison-like dating website.
Do not freak out just yet as Marge is still content with Homer after all these years. Much to our amusement, it was a complete mistake that she will not be in on as she actually confused the site for something else. The two will have a lot of lines together with one specific mention being their shared love of Downton Abbey which goes under the title Upton Rectory in the world of The Simpsons. Continue Reading
Check out this little video Fox put out on their Animation Domination Youtube channel. The piece features The Simpsons character Mr. Burns as voiced by Harry Shearer endorsing Mitt Romney for President. Of course, this was already suspected because he historically has been a Republican figure on the show, but this is definitely going to draw ire from those who suspect the long-running animated series of bias considering Mr. Smithers reminds the world of all these negative things that the GOP candidate for President would have to overcome to win.
Let’s be honest though and realize that in most places in America, this sort of political satire is not as polarizing as one might imagine. Just take Joss Whedon’s like-minded video for instance which received 90% likes. Continue Reading
Despite playing an award-winning character right now in the seldom watched Starz series Boss, Kelsey Grammer remains in the shadow of yesteryear when he played Frasier Crane on two successful NBC programs and one of the most memorable guest performances in 23 seasons of The Simpsons: Sideshow Bob. Both of those topics were on tap during the actor’s recent trip to Conan to promote his newest program. As for those stints that did not succeed for Kelsey, those ‘weren’t his fault.’ Classy, kind of true, and hilarious. Continue Reading
Despite all the celebrity guest voice overs and multiple gimmick episodes through the years on The Simpsons, most fans of the long-running Fox comedy series would tell you that their favorite episodes are that of the classic Treehouse of Horrors variety. Airing once every year since 1990, the Simpsons clan gets together and tells three ‘spooky’ stories that often serve as jabs at popular culture in a wide range of respects. Now that the 2012 edition has been detailed courtesy of executive producer Al Jean we know for sure that the program intends on rehashing that formula with this year’s installment of the Treehouse saga. So what if Edward Norton missed out on The Avengers. The actor is still having a pretty big year between the upcoming Bourne revival due in theaters tomorrow and a gig in Wes Anderson’s critically-acclaimed indie feature Moonrise Kingdom. If that was not enough, now he is set for his second guest role on The Simpsons and it sounds like one of the best gigs from a non-regular to date: a rival minister to Reverend Lovejoy. Before you get too excited, just note that there are no current plans to make a sequel for the super successful Simpsons movie. There is however a short film in the works in the vein of Pixar called The Longest Daycare. Continue Reading

Lady Gaga will guest star in the upcoming season finale of The Simpsons, and Fox wants you to know about. That is why they released the following behind-the-scenes video with the pop star talking about doing voice-over work for the cartoon comedy. Continue Reading
Lady Gaga is set to appear on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons, and the teaser promo hit the web earlier in the week to help spread the word. Judging from the viral nature of this video, the show might be in line for a viewership bump from the cartoonified pop singer. The episode entitled Lisa Goes Gaga will air on Sunday, May 20th.
Check out the couch gag from Sunday night’s episode of The Simpsons dubbed Beware My Cheating Bart. The introduction came from the mind of animator Bill Plympton who has had a long career in the industry that was recently chronicled in the 2011 documentary Adventures In Plymptoons! This is not the first time this season the Fox series gave an animator his dues as an introduction from John Kricfalusi (Ren & Stimpy) ran last October.
It only took a quarter of a century, but we finally found out the REAL Springfield in The Simpsons. Congratulations Springfield, Oregon, you are the inspiration for the town behind everybody’s favorite yellow, 8-fingered family. Series creator Matt Groening broke the news to Smithsonian magazine via a recent Q&A.
Later in the interview, he actually cautioned that he did not want to cement Oregon into the show nor people’s minds. The reason he chose the name was its generic nature, and the true inspiration was not really a little town in Oregon but rather Father Knows Best which was set in another fictitious town called Springfield. So there you have it. You can all stop watching the 500 episode-long series. You have your answer.
