Jamie Foxx Premieres New ‘Django Unchained’ Clip During ‘Today’ Interview

django unchained jamie foxxJamie Foxx stopped by The Today Show this morning, and much to our surprise it provided viewers with yet another movie clip for Django Unchained.  The Quentin Tarantino-directed movie is getting rock star reviews with an early Rotten Tomatoes score still at 100% after 19 critics weighed in.  That might have something to do with the cast which includes Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, and Leonardo DiCaprio, but Tarantino is the one winning the praise from Foxx who fills the title role.  Hit the jump for the appearance which is front-loaded with new footage. Matt Lauer Interviews ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ Cast and Crew

Hollywood’s take on the hunt for Osama bin Laden got some play on The Today Show this morning when the cast and crew of Zero Dark Thirty showed up on set to promote their critically-acclaimed film.  Matt Lauer did the interview which was front-loaded with a never before seen clip, so this one might be worth the view on that alone.  Appearing was directory Kathryn Bigelow, writer Mark Boal, Jessica Chastain, and Jason Clarke.  Chastain, a frontrunner for Best Actress, probably had the most interesting stuff to say as she addressed her character’s identity or lack thereof.  Hit the jump for the footage. Matt Damon Gives Social Advice on ‘The Today Show’

The Today Show had a pretty boring Social Q’s segment for the holidays this morning, but lucky for Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and the gang they had Matt Damon in study promoting his new movie Promised Land.  He was kind enough to help out and give his advice before hearing ‘the right answer.’  It pretty much sounds like Damon is spot on and the supposed expert was a little off, but we think the Etiquette Nazi will be alright.  Hit the jump for footage of that as well as the interview portion of the appearance. Scarlett Johansson Plugs ‘Hitchcock’ on ‘Today’

The Black Widow was on The Today Show this morning to promote her new movie, Hitchcock.  In the film opposite Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren, the actress stars as the girl in Psycho’s infamous shower scene.  Sitting down with Matt Lauer this morning, Scarlett Johansson dished on being raised on Hitchcock movies and actually being traumatized by Pyscho at an early age.  She also explained her tattoos and what it is like to work with her co-stars. Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro Discuss ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ on ‘Today’

The Today Show had both Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro on the program this week to promote Silver Linings Playbook.  The two actors star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the film about an adult son moving back in with his parents after being released from a mental institution.  There is more to that, but I will let the interviews speak for themselves.  Topics of conversation on Cooper’s end include almost passing on the David O. Russell film and the end of his reign as People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” Continue Reading

Justin Bieber’s Mom Talks Troubled Past on ‘Today’

In a sheer moment of shock this morning, I was floored to see Justin Bieber’s mom on The Today Show this morning being interviewed by Matt Lauer.  Why would she be on the program?  We do not see other pop parents out there on morning talk, so needless to say it grabbed my attention enough to watch.  Instead of promoting her kid’s latest album, Pattie Mallette is out promoting a book she wrote called Nowhere But Up that chronicles her uphill battles before giving birth to the Biebs at the age of 18.  It is a fascinating story for those of you who never heard of this before thus why I encourage the view.  Oh, and the other revelation from this interview:  Justin Bieber is so famous that his mom has 1 million Twitter followers.  Wow. ‘Today Show’ Celebrates 50 Years of James Bond Films

It is hard to believe that James Bond’s theatrical life has now spanned fifty years, but it is true as the film has firmly established itself as the most-recurring series in cinematic history with a staggering 23 installments over half a century’s time.

In May of 1963, the franchise launched with Dr. No starring Sean Connery.  This was before the mega-blockbuster era, so nobody pouted too hard when the film grossed only $16.1 million ($113 million in today’s money.)  A few installments later, the pot grew to a staggering $63.6 million ($400+ million today) with 1965′s Thunderball, solidifying it is a property worth milking for decades to come.

Anne Hathaway is out promoting The Dark Knight Rises today, and her first stop was The Today Show where the actress sat down with Matt Lauer to discuss her role as Selina Kyle.  There is a new clip in this one that has never been seen, so this interview might be worth the view on that alone.  It is the scene in the trailer where her character tells Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) to watch his back for ‘living large.’ Continue Reading
