In addition to being unimpressed with Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s Golden Globes antics, Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones has a new movie coming out from director Peter Webber (Hannibal Rising) that has the actor playing General MacArthur opposite Matthew Fox. It definitely appears to be more so a starring vehicle for the latter though as the plot deals with his character’s decision on what to do with Emperor Hirohito at the end of World War II. Fox is playing the lesser known General Bonner Fellers who is the military’s resident expert on Japanese culture. Continue Reading
Meryl Streep does not need big budget special effects to draw audience and critical recognition and nothing showcases that more than her latest movie Hope Springs. The movie about an older couple seeking marriage counseling advice opens in theaters nationwide today and the reviews are in: It’s a winner.
Critics are definitely digging the Vanessa Taylor-scripted effort from Marley & Me director David Frankel. The film is being called emotionally honest and major props are being given to its stars, especially Tommy Lee Jones who appears to have nearly stolen the show. All-in-all, this is technically a sex comedy which is never really too appealing to the masses, but the tandem appears to have sold it very well with help from a capable script that does not lean on the topic too much. About three weeks from now, Men in Black III will be hitting theaters, bringing with it the idea that we are not alone. The only comforting notion about that scenario is that there is a secret government agency working to keep a lid on it all with the likes of Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith making sure the world never comes to end. With that being said, here is the latest clip from the movie featuring the duo kicking a lot of alien ass.
Another major cast member in the Barry Sonnenfeld-directed film is Josh Brolin who plays a young Tommy Lee Jones. While he is not in today’s clip, the actor was in yesterday’s where he rode some pretty cool bikes with Will Smith.
Sony just released their first trailer for Hope Springs–a movie that stars Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones as a middle-aged couple attending a weekend of counseling. Steve Carell and Elizabeth Shu are also in the feature which was directed by Marley & Me’s David Frankel. Look for this one to hit theaters in August.
Check out the latest and greatest trailer for Men in Black III starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. By now, everyone is probably familiar with the idea that the third installment of this franchise will be based around elements of time travel, but this latest trailer showcases a specific time travel paradox in which K has been dead for 40 years. Shocker. It looks like it is up to Smith to save the world and K’s existence this time around. May 25 is the release date.
Tommy Lee Jones has had a lot going for him as of late. In addition to being in one of 2012′s most anticipated films (Men in Black III), the actor had a supporting role in last year’s Captain America, and he has just now picked up a big part in the upcoming film Emperor. Jones will be filling the shoes of General Douglas MacArthur.
The period movie is set right after World War II in Japan following the surrender of the Japanese forces and will center around the uncertainty in the region’s future at the time. The only other major actor attached to the feature at this time is Lost’s Matthew Fox who will star in the film.
