We have seen many teasers these past few weeks, but HBO has finally released an official footage-filled trailer for the sixth season of True Blood. The takeaway? Expect the vampire-human war to escalate as if fans did not know that already… Continue Reading
True Blood returns on June 16th which means more and more teaser trailers are beginning to surface. This one shows no new footage for the series’ sixth season but that came earlier in the week in the form of B-looks for Eric, Alcide, and Jason Stackhouse.
Joining the Jason Stackhouse and Alcide teasers released earlier in the week comes one with Alexander Sarsgard’s Eric for the sixth season of True Blood. This should be fine for now while we await a proper trailer ahead of the show’s June 16th return.
More B-footage has been teased for the upcoming sixth season of True Blood, this time with Joe Manganiello who plays a werewolf named Alcide on the program. The latest promo follows a similar type of tease starring Ryan Kwanten’s Jason Stackhouse that hit the web on Monday. Look for the series’ return to air June 16.
The first line of teasers are still making their way out for the upcoming sixth season return of True Blood. This one is of the B-footage variety which hints at what might be going down, so hopefully it satisfies a few people. June 16th is premiere night on HBO.
Attached to tomorrow’s highly-anticipated return of Game of Thrones will be a teaser promo for the sixth season of HBO’s True Blood. This is the premium network’s top-rated program so expect a fair amount of such marketing content to hit the air waves in the coming months as they seek to retain an audience above 4 million. Competition will be tougher than usual this year as Showtime moved their top-rated series Dexter up three months, and the surging Breaking Bad will make its final run presumably in July. An announcement was made earlier today by HBO that True Blood would be back for a sixth season on June 16. This is around when the show usually makes it return, so this is far from a surprise. The press release was less than informative thus why I choose not to include it in today’s post, but I guess the big thing to mention here is this will be the show’s first year without series showrunner Alan Ball. Usually when a change at the top comes (particularly so late into a longform drama’s run) it does not come with parity. Hopefully, the shift will be for the better although it should be noted that Mark Hudis started the season and Brian Buckner ended it–not a good sign. To be fair, the press was fed a story of Hudis leaving the position on his own accord to develop other programming for the network.
Go ahead and take a look at this year’s holiday ad from HBO who does not want people to forget that Game of Thrones is why Santa made Christmas. The premium network’s latest spot is set against a workplace where a man is handing out HBO box sets to his coworkers that are naturally stereotypical in selection. Special nods go to Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, and True Blood. No Newsroom or Girls mentions, but there is always next year.
Miss last year’s season of True Blood? Not to worry, HBO has you covered with a lengthy recap complete with cast member commentary for the series’ witch-packed fourth year out. Continue Reading
The new season of True Blood is just around the corner which is good enough reason to check out the new poster for season five.
Naturally, HBO decided to run with the angle of it being the show’s fifth year on the air. Fans can catch new episodes of the hit vampire drama starting Sunday, June 10.
True Blood will be returning in about a month, and HBO wants to make sure you know about. With that being said, the premium network launched this new teaser poster for the show’s upcoming fifth season. The Anna Paquin-lead series remains a very big summer draw despite rampant criticism of its random side plots and poorly designed story arcs thus why we pay a little bit more attention to this series than the typical scripted drama.
Look for the show to premiere all-new episodes beginning Sunday, June 10.
