‘Wilfred’ to Premiere Its Third Season on June 20

wilfredThe return date for Elijah Woods’ comedy Wilfred has been set. The third year series will premiere originals starting Thursday, June 20 where it will run with double episodes two weeks prior to the Fourth of July holiday before returning with single half-hours. More details are as follows.

Los Angeles, May 6, 2013 – Today FX announced that the third season of its original comedy series Wilfred will premiere on Thursday, June 20. Viewers will be treated to two new episodes airing back-to-back at 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM ET/PT for the first two weeks of the season, followed by a July 4 hiatus. Beginning July 11, Wilfred will resume airing single episodes each Thursday at 10:00 PM ET/PT. Continue Reading

Elijah Wood’s FX Series ‘Wilfred’ to Return in June 2013

Good news for fans of the FX series Wilfred.  The show has finally been picked up for a third season.  An order was placed by the network today for 13 more episodes which will debut starting June of 2013.  This is the second piece of Elijah Wood news this week as just yesterday it was reported he joined the horror film Cooties about a virus breaking out in elementary school, turning kids into monsters which teachers have to fight in order to survive.  That sounds like and Elijah Wood film, right? Elijah Wood Explains ‘Wilfred’ Bong, Shares ‘Game of Thrones’ Love on ‘Conan’

Elijah Wood was on Conan last night where he talked about a number of things, but chief among them was his passion for Game of Thrones.  The Wilfred actor actually went as far as to visit the set of the HBO fantasy drama where he even sat in the iron throne (pictured above) and received a Winterfell candle.  Of course, that was not the entire extent of the interview as Wood also dished on how to make a Gatorade bong and how he unsuccessfully tried to dodge hardcore Lord of the Rings fans as Comic-Con. Elijah Wood Comedy ‘Wilfred’ is Most Watched Comedy Premiere Ever for FX

On Thursday, June 23, Wilfred debuted to the highest ratings ever for a new comedy series on the FX cable network.  The series premiere was watched by just over 2.5 million viewers and scored a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic which was only bettered by Burn Notice‘s 1.7 18-49 among scripted cable competition for the night.  Apparently Elijah Wood talking to a man dressed as a dog is cable comedy gold.
